INTRODUCTION TO POLYSOMNOGRAPHY

TACT in association with Nithra Institute of Sleep Sciences focuses in improving public awareness on sleep disorders and sleep health, promoting sleep medicine research, and providing a portal for communication between patients, physicians/healthcare professionals, and corporate.

Sleep apnea is a disorder of interrupted breathing during sleep. It usually occurs in association with fat buildup or loss of muscle tone with aging. These changes allow the windpipe to collapse during breathing when muscles relax during sleep

Two renowned sleep technologists from US and Singapore conducted two days of intense sessions on Polysomnography, the study of sleep patterns on April 24 and 25, 2008 at TACT Academy for Clinical Training.

The latest gadgets used to diagnose the exact cause, level, type of sleep apnea were demonstrated.
