Course Format:
- The program will consist of 8 modules with each module comprising of basic reading material, lecture demonstrations, workshops and simulation experience where appropriate followed by post-tests.
- The modules will be taught sequentially with adequate time built-in between each module for practice, re-training and remediation.
- Candidates have the flexibility of registering and starting the course at any time and are expected to
complete within 16 months of registration.
- The topics covered are Basic & Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Respiratory Support, Hemodynamic monitoring and optimization, Basics of Mechanical Ventilation, Metabolic abnormalities in the ICU,
Common ICU emergencies, Care of the Trauma Patient and Infection control and other issues in the ICU.
- Upon successful completion of 8 modules, candidates have a period of clinical observer ship in a tertiary
Critical Care Unit following which they receive formal certification during IMA Convocation.
Duration: Eight modules each for two days
