Critical care units are complex and dynamic clinical environments in which the delivery of appropriate and timely care to critically ill patients depends on the integrated and efficient actions of providers with specialized training. The use of realistic clinical simulator systems can help to facilitate and standardize the training of critical-care physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, physiotherapists and pharmacists without having the training process jeopardize the well-being of patients.
A workshop targeting the critical issues doctors face in the critical care units was conducted in collaboration with Sanofi-Aventis Pharma Limited on April 4, 5, & 6, 2008. Doctors from all over the country participated in it.
The participants uniformly were of the opinion that this workshop gave them some very valuable value-addition for their day-to-day practice in their critical care units. This enthusiastic response encouraged us to repeat the program on June 20 and 21, 2008.
